Did you Know?
Teenagers and young adults are more likely to become victims of violent crimes than older persons. About one third of all victims of violent crimes are ages 12 to 19. Homicide is the second leading cause of death for persons 15-24 years of age.
Approximately 80% of adult smokers started before the age of 18. Tobacco is often the first drug used by young people who use alcohol and illegal drugs. In the U.S. one in two rape victims is under the age of 18.
